Jefferson County Judge Arrested for D.W.I. and Assault

Missouri Highway Patrol says a Jefferson County judge  could face D.W.I. and felony assault  charges after the judge was arrested Tuesday night following an accident.

The Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office and the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office and both stated they are aware of the incident but no action has been taken as they are both waiting for the final report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The Judge who was arrested is Nathan Stewart who is assigned to Division 3.

The decision on possible charges will be made by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.  The decision could take weeks or months.

If this was any citizen, there would be no doubt that charges will be filed. All too often, we hear of People holding public office getting a slap on  the wrist. only time will tell if Forrest K. Wegge will do his job and charge the judge, or if this will get swept under the rug like all the other cases.

  1. This guy is notorious for leniency for aggravated offenders......I suspect there may be bribes involved as well ... good ole boy club ... after 4 - 5x there should not be a suspended sentence given. Ridiculous... all his cases should be reviewed.
This is the reason I voted against him staying on the bench ... and thankfully, he will be replaced

    1. Me too, I am tired of the current good ol' boy system in Jefferson county. I was a little let down with the candidate choices for sheriff. We as citizens must hold people in public office to a higher standard.
